February 9, Qigong Workshop in Pine Grove

On January 5, we had a Qigong workshop in Pine Grove at the KSW Karate Dojo where we covered the Deer Qigong section from the Five Animal Exercises Qigong Set (Wu Qin Xi).  This Qigong set was created in ancient China to help balance and strengthen the kidneys and waist area and is usually practiced during the winter months for optimal effects.  Those who came to this workshop really enjoyed it, but there were some who wanted to come and were unable to attend.  To allow those in our Amador County community, who wanted to attend but could not, another opportunity to learn this ancient Qigong set we will be having another workshop in February.

The next workshop will be held on February 9, 2013 at the KSW Karate Dojo in Pine Grove, CA.  If you would like to attend you may RSVP on facebook here, but an RSVP is not required to attend.  We hope many of you will come join us for this life changing experience.  Everyone is welcome.

For more information please visit our Workshops and Seminars page.

This Saturday is the 8 Pieces of Brocade Qigong Workshop

First of all I would like to say that the Deer Qigong Workshop that we had on Jan. 5, 2013 went really well and was a wonderful experience.  We had a great time and I appreciate those people who are taking an active interest in improving and maintaining their health, taking the time to join us for this event.  Thank you to all of you who participated in the Deer Qigong Workshop.

Next I would like to remind everyone that the next Qigong Workshop is taking place next Saturday (Jan, 12, 2013).  Anyone interested in learning the 8 Pieces of Brocade Qigong Set (the Ba Duan Jin in Chinese)  is more than welcome to come.  The information for this and future workshops is available on the Workshops and Seminars page.

8 Pieces of Brocade (Ba Duan Jin)
This form of Qi Gong is one of the most famous forms and it is practiced world wide as a health maintenance and rejuvenation exercise set.  It is some times translated as the 8 Silken
Movements, referring to the silk like smoothness of the body and its energies that these 8
movements bring about.  This set is also incredibly easy to learn and practice and is considered an extremely safe form of exercise for people of all ages.  After practicing this form of Qi Gong one can easily see why this set is one of the most popular sets in the world.
· Location: KSW Karate 20200 Hwy. 88, Pine Grove, CA
· Both workshops will last from 9:00am to 2:00pm (with an hour break for lunch)
· Attendance is $50 per person
· Each person will receive a booklet with details about the exercises and photos of the movements to help everyone remember the exercises they learned  when the workshop is over.

Important Update for Qigong Seminar on 1-5-13

Here's a quick update. Please be sure to bring a thermos with hot water and really warm clothes for afterwards. After practicing this Qigong set it's important to rest and drink plenty of warm water. There will be an hour or so after the workshop where the participants are welcome to rest for a while before leaving. Qigong has different effects on different people. Some people feel very invigorated afterwards and others want to take a nap. This set especially can make you really tired when you are first learning it because the different exercises tend to knock loose toxins that are stored in the kidneys and other body tissues. I would rather have you all rest at the dojo for a bit than to try to drive home when you're really tired.  So feel free to bring a blanket just in case.   I hope you're all ready for a really relaxing and refreshing experience!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
More information about this workshop and future workshops is available on the Workshops and Seminars page.
