1st Open Tai Chi Night - Thank You

We just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who attended our 1st "Open Tai Chi Night." It was great having all there and we hope you had as much fun as we did! We hope to have another one before the end of the year, but we don't have a date set yet. Stay tuned and we will let you know when as soon as we can.

The First Open Tai Chi Night

On October 28, 2013 we will be holding our very first "Open Tai Chi Night" at the KSW Karate Dojo in Pine Grove. This night is for anyone who is curious about Tai Chi or who has loved ones who are curious about Tai Chi, to come see what it's all about, free of charge. It's also a night for anyone who currently practices Tai Chi and would like to meet other, local practitioners. We hope to see you and your loved ones there! :)

"Open Tai Chi Night" starts at 6:00p.m.

Look for the big grey building on Hwy. 88, in Pine Grove. We'll be there. :)

Tai Chi Compass Wall Hanging

Traditionally cardinal directions are used to teach Tai Chi forms. It helps students understand which way to turn when moving from one movement to the next. Most forms start "facing south". Although, it is not important to face actual south, hanging this piece on a wall in your training area will help orient you. Always start your form facing this piece. If you step to the left, you have stepped East. If you then step forward, you have stepped South. If you turn right, you have turned toward the West. That is the footwork for the beginning of the Yang Style 103 Form. Using the cardinal directions makes instructions easier to follow, which makes this piece ideal for practicing Tai Chi or learning Tai Chi via distance-learning technology.
